Bonjour from Lama 1

After many years of Lama adventures with lots of rather lively discussions (some really loud!), dreams and good times behind and ahead of us, it will be fun to share with likeminded other lamas all the stuff that we love.

Typical of her selfless nature she put me as Lama 1, however we are equally crafty I do believe with her many hidden talents! As for me, I tend towards sage green although pale pinks certainly gets my attention - however I seem to veer towards SO many things of all descriptions that are related to home decorating, dressing, cooking.... it's hard to decide what to leave behind!

I love to look for the unique pieces whether at markets, in boutiques - but not so much on-line as I'm an old fashioned kind of lama. I'm afraid if I start using ebay I'll never stop - especially to buy kitchen stuff and homemade crafts! I have a softspot for linens and vintage cookbooks too.

So for my very first entry to our Crafty LLama, I want to share a gorgeous shop I came across called Gigi http://www.gigi.com.au/ . It is an absolute delight and appeals to my Francophile side immensely with the amazing finds to be had... think household goods including textiles, enamelware, ceramics - all from France that are antique, vintage or new! Enjoy:)

The Works

Lama 2 here. The other week I visited The Works, 275 Burwood Road, Hawthorn which is part of the Bed, Bath 'n Table chain. My friend Carlee recommended that I go in there to use a voucher she and her husband had given to me for my birthday.

I walked in and thought I had died and gone to heaven.

The Works is a massive homewares store with every kind of kitchen, bedroom or bathroom item you could ever want.

Here are some of the things that caught my eye.

Mozi

I fell in love with the gorgeous cake plates.

Welcome to The Crafty Llama

Welcome to the first post of The Crafty Llama. We're two best friends who call each other lama after watching The Emperor's New Groove and running amuck in Paris in 2003 and generally being bad lamas.

You can call us Lama 1 and Lama 2. A bit like B1 and B2. Except we don't wear striped pyjamas.

Lama 1 is the craftier one of the two of us and I'll get her to introduce herself in the next couple of posts.

Lama 2 is writing this post and is addicted to browsing ebay, anything pink, covered in hearts, brightly colourful and is currently decorating her dream home in her head.

We had the idea to create a blog and to post anything crafty or homey that inspires us and will hopefully inspire you.

Enjoy!
